shiny and matt textures

I need some help. this is my first repaint, and have a lot of shinyness on the plane in daylight, and matte, or less shinyness in night. where can i adjust this?

WOW, whole lot better than my first repaint!
And you use the alpha channel to control shinyness.

For the alpha channel, it should be an exact duplicate of the texture, but with monochrome shades replacing everything.  For a mirror surface use 0,0,0 (black).  For a dull surface, like fabrics, use 255,255,255 (white).  However, the reflectivity is cut off at night, so you won't see any reflections after dusk.

thanks Travis,

this make sense. I added the Alpha texture that comes with the repaint package, so if I want to add less shine, I shoud just lighten the texture used for the alpha channel?

Use caution, though.  Some parts may need a darker or lighter alpha for them to look right.  Don't lighten the entire texture unless you are certain it needs it.
