Mustangs

Hi all,

I am working on a series of repaints of Shockwave's WWII fighters Mustang, all based on the 335th fighter squadron as you can see:

Image
The Duchess was flown by maj. William O'Donell

WDD had no name but a big arrow, and was flown by Lt. Charles Konsler

Image
Rita Marie was Maj. Robert Ackerley's plane

and the Ridge Runner III was the last plane flown by Maj. Pierce McKennon

I have noticed something annoying (to me anyway): the fuselage consists of two bitmaps, the front and rear parts, and as you can see in the last two pics, sometimes the rear part remains blurry for a while. If you wait a bit, it comes into focus (see other pics), but in the beginning the rear is always blurry, whereas the front is always immediately in focus. Does anyone have any suggestions what might cause this?

Of course I am also curious what you think of my repaints, so all comments will be greatly appreciated, and hopefully lead to better results.
