How do you repaint planes in CFS? Is there some editingsoftware I need to download?

You can open/convert the textures with the latest DXTBmp. http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htm
After that I assume it's much the same as for the other M$ sims.

PS. I misread your question & thought this was for CFS3. My advice still stands. The CFS2 default texture format is DXT1 Opaque.

PPS. If this is for CFS1 try converting the textures with ConvR8 instead. http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/convr8.htm
