Something's funny. . . .

~S~ All!

It's been a while since I've posted, but read the threads quite often.  I was hoping you may help me out with something funny that I've run into.

I'm working on a Bell 206L for FS2002PRO.  I open the textures in DXTbmp then send them to Paint Shop Pro for editing.

Here's the funny part: when I try to open the extended format bmp's in DXTbmp, it tells me they aren't extended, and makes me open them as normal bmp's, BUT....  when they open as normal bmp's, they appear as extended bmp's opened without DXTbmp i.e. full of vertical lines, odd colors, etc.

Is there something I am missing here?  I've only really done repaints for CFS2..... maybe I'm assuming incorrectly that the process is similar?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Doc. Make sure you have the latest version of DXTBmp. http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htm
It seem to me that you have an earlier version that doesn't recognise the DXT3 format. This is the FS2002 default texture format.

~~S~~

Right you were, once again, Hagar.  The new version of DXTbmp was able to open the textures.

Thanks again,
