Depends on which sim you're trying to convert to.

But the simple explanation for FS9 is:

All of the SDKs for FS9 can be found here.

The one you need is MakeMDL.  (Clicking the link will automatically download the SDK)

After you download, install it directly to the plugins folder of your Gmax setup.

You are now ready to export!

Then hopefully you have FSX Deluxe (original RTM) in order to install the SDK from disc 1.  AFter that, you need to download and install the SDK appropriate to your version (i.e., if you have FS-X ACceleration, you install the SDK ACceleration update (or SDK SP2)....

I have the gold version (Deluxe and Accelleration) so where can I get the SP2 for SDK?

SDK Installation document from FSDeveloper.com-

It should be on the disc...

Basically, after you configure the paths for the SDK, you export the model as a .X file.  Then you use the XtoMDL tool to turn it into a .mdl file.  After that. it gets a bit fuzzy for me...

Unless of course you are using GMax, in which case the intermediate step of the .x file is automatic...

You simply compile an aircraft .mdl file directly.

I got it working but some other things that are sopposed to be in Gmax aren't there (Yes I've added the FSX Gamepack...), like for example, the GUID thing isn't in there...

You don't have the LODNameTool as one of your FS Tools?

I've gone through ever single menu... it isn't there... I must have moved it somewhere it isn't supposed to be...

under the gmax file, where does it go?
