Mystery Ship update...

Postby Wing Nut » Mon Dec 31, 2007 11:40 am

Still fooling around with this.  I have more completed, but it's nothing new, so I left it hidden.  Here's the cockpit under construction.  The last shot is a quick and dirty render...

looking good, the panel has nice detailing :o
What do I do you ask? I struggle! Then destroy! Then try to put back together what I just broke on accident.....

Thanks guys, I got a lot farther on it today too.  I should be done with the panel in a couple of days at this rate, and ready to begin on the rest of the cockpit.  I want the gauges to work when looking in from an external view, but I know nothing about how to do it, and that's way down the road at any rate.  BTW, the white thing is a slide rule...

Amazing what a couple of basic textures will do for it.  :)

I think I am going to have to stop here now until I can find some better pics of the cockpit.  There might be one or two things I can add, but I'm beginning to be concerned about accuracy here.  I have only been able to find two and neither are very great.  I contacted Beechcraft, who made it certain they were not interested in helping out, and I contacted The Beech Staggerwing museum in Tennessee, who said they had lots of pics, but put me off until after the holidays (now).  I just sent them a kindly worded reminder, and hope to hear back soon

Here's what I'm working from:
