merlin work so far

Postby BUZZMAN » Sun Aug 20, 2006 7:54 pm

here's the latest update on the westland merlin mh101 i am building so far i have been
able to animate the rotors and tail section to fold up open the crew access door
and main winch door

ok main the fuslarge is made and the interior as well i have been working on a vc as
well now i have figured out how to ad working gauges and switch's (at last !!!!)
there's also a sonar dipper that is animated to drop down to 30ft below it
as you can see i have done some texture's as well but still need to refine them
a bit more

1 should i inclued a basic paint texture package so repaints can be made for each place it used???
2 do you wnat the second door on the main winch to jetision  ???
3 the navy version are different from the army verions so a new model is in the works
after this one is complete

one small problem i have run into is the front gear not turning tho i know how to do this
linking the front axle to the (rudder box)(c_gear) in an effort to get this working
even checking the config file

as for crew the model size is too bigg to have any

heres the shut down engines and ready to be stored
as you can see the main rotors are folded i know there in the wrong postion but you get the idea of how it's going the vc is up and running now just playing with the gauges now to come up with a nice panel for this

regards eddie

Looking good so far, very good indeed. However, the gear does seem to be a little long, with the helo sitting rather high up.

As you can see, there should be very little clearance between the ground and the large dome underneath.

Still, apart from that, I like it! It'll be one to look out for. :)

I should imagine the gear is compressed a fair amount when the weight of the helo is resting on them. Hence the differing length of the gear in the model and the pictures.

I know, I'm referring to the high quality of your job - I think looks like a payware despite of being 100% free - which made me MORE happy ;D
