Need help With Helicopter

Postby wilderobb » Tue May 31, 2005 10:19 pm

I have the Seruphum Aerospace JetFalcon helicopter for 2002 and all is well except that it wants to go nose up at a rapid rate at all times. I am using a flight yoke and there is a way to adjust the pitch but that would screw up the rest of my aircraft and what I'm use to. By nose up I mean I have to push all the way foreward on the yoke just to keep the helicopter level. That just can't be right. My other choppers are fine it's just that one helicopter. I assume there's an adjustment in the aircraft cfg. file but don't know what that would be. Help!! ???

I'm having the same issues with the Bell 430 - goes violently nose-up, then if you're not careful or don't anticipate and correct, you'll go into a nasty spin.

I haven't played around with it yet, but I think the problem lies in the moments of inertia for the empty weight pitch.

Try this. It's been a while but I think it works .....

Back up the air file.

Find a heli with favourable flight characteristics - Open the air file in notepad - copy contents & paste into the airfile of your problem heli.  Edit anything you may want - such as description - in AirEd (here) Save.

Try it & see how it works. If it doesn't (because the cfg file can also effect things) you still have your original file to go back on .....

P.S. If you intend to distribute this you'll need permission from the originator of the airfile - unless you use the default 206   (which I think all helos are based on anyway ...)

That's just what I did with the copy/paste. I did have to put the original LIGHTS back in but now it's much better. Thanks. Wildie
