Incom T-65

Incom T-65...Also Known by the Rebel Alliance As the X-Wing. ;D I've Been chugging away for awhile now on this model and it's textures and since Its starting to look like something I figured I would see what everyone thinks of it as of now.

I'm also looking for pictures from the films of the cockpit or any other picture that shows the cockpit and its instruments in detail...if such pictures exist......??? Another thing I'm looking to do is create a nice pink glow effect for the engines...I was wondering if I could take a reheat effect such as the one from the DSB Typhoon and make it pink? :)

Also if anyone would like to help out with the sounds and flight model I could use the help as I'm a noob in both of those areas. I have recorded the sounds I would like to chop up and use from another game...."Star Wars Battlefront" so finding good sounds shouldn't be a problem. As of yet I haven't done a lot of checking around for exact specs of what this bird can do so I'm not too sure about the air file yet either.

Three versions of the TIE are in my projects folder too......;D

Awwww, geeee, if this is from a newbie designer, I wonder how "bad" you'll be when you decide you're really getting the hang of this modelling thing!!

I've been playing with FSDS for awhile now....just hit that brick wall called texturing every time I start a project. I have more projects then I can count in my projects folder....All free of textures:) I started playing star wars battlefront about 3 months ago and I had a bit of a star wars craze since then. Helped me out a lot to be able to go into the game and see how Lucas Arts did it for SWBF, especially with the textures and certain parts of the model. SWBF isn't that detailed when it comes to vehicles but it gives you the general Idea of what it should look like. :)

My son in law (who obviously has great taste) is a Star Wars "enthusiast"  (my daughter would classify him as a "nut"), but he graciously loaned me a book containing reasonably detailed views of various such vehicles of the Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc., persuasion.

Your models, I presume, include VC, eh?

As of now No...But once the visual model is completed I plan on starting the VC. This is why I'm looking for detailed photos of the cockpit and panel. So far I have yet to see any giving a better view of the panel then what you can see in the films.....I guess I'm going to be watching the Battle of Endor and Yavin quiet a few times in the near future.:)

Excellent work so far!

I really love it!

Fantastic!

I also like it because it means that people will stop asking me for a T-65. :)

Nice work!

Even though I'm a fan of Star Wars I've always thought it odd that most of the Star Wars aircraft are aerodynamically unsound yet have very high atmospheric performance. Especially concerning the Snowspeeder.

A good Death Star trench run would be nice don't you think? ;D

As for the X-Wing, So far...I have animated the S-Foils, Canopy and landing skids. I've started on the VC but its going pretty slow since apparently no pictures of the X-Wings cockpit exist in this galaxy.... :'(

I have seen the tip top of the control stick in "A New Hope" three times for about 2 mille seconds each time. According to the movies the throttle is just a plain ole knob on the stick.....And what we Earthlings call rudder pedals, control the bank of the X-Wing..

Here is a new screen shot in the Himalayas....Looks a lot like Hoth to me ;)
