I have had no luck getting a pilot to appear and disappear depending upon lights.
Anyone done this?
Step-by-step dummies guide please, for GMAX.
I figured all I had to do was place the LIGHT_NAV or LIGHT_LAND object at the top of the pilot's hirearchy but er, there doesn't seem to be a light object as such, just materials and both my animated (TICK18) and non-animated pilots showed up no matter what I did.
Model is fantastic apart from this. :-/

OK, I have managed to hide the pedalling pilot when the engine is shut down by using the SPOILERWELL_L object and a gauge. Works perfectly but I STILL want to display a non-pedalling pilot when the engine is shut down and there are no suitable animation parts left. WHEELWELLs and ENDCAPs are no good for this...
Any suggestions? This is in GMAX BTW so none of the FSDS tricks will work, unfortunately.
