Stumped again!

Postby CAFedm » Tue Nov 23, 2004 12:05 pm

Nearing completion of my project here, some items have come up that appear to be baffling :'( - everyone here has helped me tremendously with my questions so far, and I thank you for this.

I don't the rudder has anything do with you doing soemthing wrong and its just the way the sim models things. After all would a rudder move out all the way when flying? cos you'd have the wind resistance pushing it back to its neutral postion.

Could be that the movement is limited by the AIR file or the CFG file settings. You can set the rudder maximum deflection by changing the CFG entry under:

[airplane_geometry]

elevator_up_limit= 25.783
elevator_down_limit= 19.996
aileron_up_limit= 15.000
aileron_down_limit= 15.000
rudder_limit= 22.918 ****** this shows a max of +/_23deg*****

Thanks for your assistance, after trying these suggestions nothing seems to want to get the rudders to go when in flight >:(

The proper tags should be rudder_01 and rudder_02.

In the aircraft.cfg, ensure that the rudder deflection is set properly, usually 18-30 degrees.  This is found in the Aircraft Geometry section.  The rudder tags are not to be keyframe animated; FS handles this.

Lastly, ensure that the Yaw Damper is OFF in flight to allow the rudder to move normally (though you typically have it on in cruise phase).
