ive got a pack of 3ds files sitting on my computer that i planned to convert to an MDL so i could use it for a plane. i tried them to Gmax and then to MakeMDL, but Gmax wont take them and MakeMDL wont either. ive tried the program thats supposed to open them, and im having problems that are difficult to explain with it. So i was wondering, what do i do?

Di you try to OPEN the *.3ds files with gmax or did you try File->import in gmax?
gmax 1.2 includes 3DS and DXF importer.
Remember, gmax only OPENS its own native format *.gmax files, but it can IMPORT *.3DS and *.dxf files.
