project 737 - yet another update

Postby Moach » Sat Jun 26, 2004 7:46 pm

hi again

sorry about the long time without updates, i've been struggling with texturing for a while ( i'm not very good at it yet so it takes a long time to do anything )

luckly, Totti (atotti2000) is helping me out with it

he just delivered the first set of livery textures as well as the paint kit...

i'm working on the DVC myself so we can get things done faster

we're very close to complete completion  (;D) here... it won't be too long now :D

take a look:

- the new GOL livery:

- now with the final fuselage mapping

- reflective textures all around  ;D

- and the DVC

this thing is still frame rate friendly as far as i know... i have a geforce MX440 64MB and it runs fine with me...

i haven't been able to work on it as hard as i used to, but it's slowly but surely coming along

oh, and it's still freeware too  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

c ya

heloo. I would just like to add a bit to the update  ;D
mainly about the textures.
Ive made the current ones using photos of GOL planes and the paintkit is really really simple. This is so we can have a wider range of designs rather than people just putting colours over it  ::)
as you can see i havnt sent moach the tail yet, its finished, honest and that too is also made from photographs.
Finally, just a BIG thankyou to moach who has let me work with him on this 1. its a truely amazing plane  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

thanks

Ant

Looks great, I was hoping there'd be a 737 coming out with a VC, I haven't found a kittyhawk or FFX one with one and the default one looks ugly from the outside. At last, a great aircraft model with a great VC 8), nice work. Can't wait to try the flight dynamics. ;D

not just a dynamic VC, an active, dynamic, fully interactive, night lit, thoroughly detailed 3D virtual Cockpit with not only working gauges, but also, 3D animated clickable switches that make FULL IFR flight possible without ever having to switch to the 2D panel!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sounds amazing, can't wait for it's release. Do you have a project homepage? Are you recruiting painters or anything? Thanks very much,

The idea i think, is that once released a paintkit will be distributed.
can you back me up on that one moach? ::)

I commend both of you on an excellent - looking model.

Now, to make it more realistic, make sure you model and texture a few squashed bugs on the landing gear and windshield...

Seriously, though, if at all possible, add an extra "undocumented" little piece, visible only in a certain angle, etc., and see who spots it.

FOr example - maybe using the periscope_tube part (in the DVC) you can pull up a "Flying the 737 for Idiots" booklet from a side pocket....  Then you'll have the people going nuts trying to find the part that fits the texture!

i want as many repaints as possible ;)

oh, and about that "undocumented little piece", well ::), there is a little "surprise" hidden somewhere on the model ::) ::) ::)

but i'm not gonna spoil it ;D ;D ;D

Most definitely a requirement for a model to aspire to Inpector Poly's Seal of Approval.

looks like a -700 to me...
classic series don't have that "wedged" tail look, not to mention the cockpit layout, which is the Next gen. glass cockpits :)
