If you're using FSDS there's a comprehensive tutorial in the e help screens. I think you can also download from the abacus site.

A goo starting point.

The basic process  (of coding the gauges in the panel.cfg) is the same.

MODELLING the vc is now easier in gmax (with the FS9 gamepack)

Create two dummy nodes tagged "exterior" and "interior"  (CAUTION - ENSURE THAT THE PIVOT POINTS OF THE DUMMY NODES ARE PROPERLY ALIGNED)

Link ALL parts of your exterior model (that which will be seen in the outside view) to the exterior dummy;

Link ALL parts of your VC/interior model (those that will be seen in the VC view) to the interior dummy;

Compile (a little bit of reverent invocation to the modelling gods will help here) and expect to see the VC in fightsim.

making the gauges appear in the dvc is a bit more tricky

but it's not as complicated as it seems...

first, create the 3d model for the DVC, i'll leave that to you ;D

then you want to create a surface that will display your gauges, i usually use a plane... it can have any shape you want (yes, it can)

then make a bitmap and draw in it, the position and size you want
