Making the nose gear turn

Postby cavity » Tue Jun 08, 2004 9:08 am

I read awhile ago that there is a way to make a fixed nose gear turn by changing the cfg file.  I have a 2002 plane that I would like to have a rotating nose gear.  Anybody know what I need to do? Todd

I could be wrong but I beleve that nose wheel sterring and wheels that turn are made at the time of the planes design, and has to be animated in gmax.
I do not think that there is no entry in the aircraft cfg file that will allow you to do this. But I could be wrong 8)

Only way that I know of to make one turn that doesnt turn with your joystick or yoke, whichever you have. Is to use the differential brakes F11 (left), and F12 (right) are the default keyboard commands ::)

Thanks for the replies guys. I cant remember where I read about adding text to change the fixed gear.  It has been a long time since I saw that, so maybe it applied to something else.  Nothing worse than a 727 with a nose wheel that doesnt turn.  Thanks again, Todd

I think cavity means that the only problem is the nose wheel itself doesn't turn on the model.  Any aircraft (I believe) will turn with the pedals if you have them.
