wheel and flap question

Postby ryan6802 » Tue May 25, 2004 7:27 pm

I have put many fs2002 aircraft on fs9 but the wheels aren't there. Well they're there but you can't see them.

Also some of the animation doesn't work like the flaps.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

yes that happened to me too when i tried putting fs2002 aircraft on fs2004... i have no idea why it happens, it just seems that some aircraft don't want to be on fs9...

others however work perfect... hmmm go figure :P

and i don't think think that there is any way you can edit them so they work...
bummer, i also had many cool aircraft i wanted on fs9

c ya  :)

This is why I'm resisting going to FS2004 (as well as it being more heavy on the system requirements). Some FS2000 and FS2002 planes were designed using earlier versions of FSDS, which FS9 doesn't appear to display parts of. I have a lot of planes designed for these earlier sims which I really want to keep. Since a number of these are unlikely to display well in FS9, then on balance, staying with FS2002 is best for me.

Maybe I am lucky or I do not have the planes you have.
But I have managed to find FS2004 versions of every plane I had on FS2002 and I had a lot of planes. Although I do not have any milatary planes or any of the vintage aircraft. They just do not appeal to me. Every milatry jet that I have ever tried did not fly very well and I tried several different ones. trying to fly them was like trying to stop a runaway train with a toothpick.
They were all over the sky and no matter what I did I could never control them. So I gave up and stick to the commerical planes. 8)

The problem you're having is that those planes were designed with FSDS version 1.
