Nickman,

To make the effect start in the correct location, you need to add three values to you string in the cfg.

Currently you have "smoke.0=3, -30.14, -40.24, fuel_dump "

You should have "smoke.0=3, -30.14, -40.24, xx.xx, fuel_dump"

There is sometimes an X, Y or Z offset in the effect file, and you should compensate for this in your cfg placement.

A good place to start would be to copy the location of the wing strobes into your cfg for the fule dump, and edit from there.

I don't know if the bug has been fixed in 2004 (don't have it), but the vertical coordinate in 2002 for the smoke system has no effect on the actual vertical starting point for the effect. You have to modify the Y coordinate in the effect file to get it to start in the right place!

You're absolutely right microlight, fs2004 does it the same way as 2002.  :)
