Offer to all the modelers

Postby contrail_dash » Thu Jan 15, 2004 9:56 pm

I just thought of this today....I work at an FBO, and in doing so I have access to just about any general aviation (including business jets) aircraft . Part of my job also involves working with the airlines here so I'm around ERJs, XRJs, CRJs, SP80s, 737s, A319s, and Bae146s.

My offer is this, if anyone need detailed pics of aircraft parts or paint jobs, let me know. I can get them for ya. I'm not too sure about cockpits as most planes are locked up, and on the airline side, security kinda frowns upon non-crew going up there.

Either way, just PM me and let me know what you need.

what a generouse offer, I've been trying to get all round photos of light twins (piston) and any old stuff especially old propliners, internal views are badly
needed in the design world. I tried asking to take photos around the local airport, but as you say people are untrusting or just don't want to be bothered. anyway, sounds like you don't have access to what I want but if you get a chance and it's no trouble I'd really appreciate some good shots.    cheers.

Great offer, as most modellers can't have enough reference photo's (at least I think so) I'm currently on the lookout of close-up pictures of a Beech 99 (that's the predecessor of the 1900, and Ameriflight has a lot of them), flaps and the construction of the flap hinges, and the taillight are the most interesting to me.
Oh, and while your there, if there's a decent Cessna P337 (the twin with the engines on the centerline), I would love to get my hands on more pictures of the rear engine cowling and rear geardoors.

(both planes are seldom seen in europe)
Pilots are the best computers we can put aboard aircraft, and the only ones that can be massproduced with unskilled labor..
