need help with mr.da silvas f-5

Postby oswald_boelcke » Sat Mar 06, 2004 9:46 am

I am incorporating ai traffic in to fs2004,and found that i needed a northrop f-5 single seater.
I found the brilliant plane by mr da silva and i works fine in fs2004.
The problem is that it can not seem to find the runway when it is going in to land,it crashes a couple of miles away from it.
Another problem is that i can see the plane perfectly in spot and tower wiews, but when i try to look at it from inside a cockpit it either dissapears or a lot of perts are missing.
I really would appreciate some assistance with this.
best regards
oswald.

II've had this same problem with this F-16C which i downloaded. Asssumingly, FS asked you when you installed the A/C about software contained in the model or A/C and if you wanted to disable it. You obviously pressed no , and there seems to be something in all these models that has to do with cockpit veiw. Reinstall the aircraft and say yes if FS asks you to disable the "software".

Hope this helps

Many 3rd party aircraft don't work at all well as AI traffic. You would need to edit the flight dynamics to fix the landing problem. Unless you know what you're doing this can be a complex business. It might be best to replace the AIR file & Aircraft.cfg with files from a similar aircraft that works OK. You can edit the details in the CFG accordingly.

I don't know this particular aircraft. Many 3rd party aircraft have no internal views or DVC. This won't matter if you're using them for AI traffic. The 2d panels should not affect frame rates but are obviously not necessary for AI drones. Older FS2002 aircraft that are not fully compatible with FS9 are not really suitable as AI traffic. The gear & other animations will not show up. It's best to look round for the later FSDS2 or Gmax aircraft.
