Is there a way to convert from Gmax to Orbiter? I have some really good ideas for Orbiter, but I don't have any clue as to conversions.

There is a way to convert the models from Gmax to *.msh format [which Orbiter uses].
*.msh files can also be converted back to Gmax for editing.
I have the appropriate Maxscript files and the converter. Just give me your e-mail [through PM] and I'll send them to you.
BTW, these files are free and can be freely distributed.

Oh...one more thing.
Making an addon ship or orbital station for Orbiter is not easy. Especially if you want to make your own custom *.dll files [which are used to calculate ship and station behavior].
Remember, Orbiter uses formulas that are directly related to Orbital Mechanics. Therefore, it's a mission to make an addon ship that doesn't share default files.

It's also in Avsim.
Just look in the -Orbiter Space Flight Simulator section and type Converter in the search space.
