I'd say no one knows & we're all waiting with ... .. well - just waiting to see when...

To a certain point beta testers in for any piece of software are not so much "insiders" as gamers/users that can be trusted to keep their discretion and provide reasonable and objective comments to either specific issues, such as visual effects, specific aircraft performance, etc (this comes from my participating in other tests, not FS).

The "insiders" I talk about are those charged with developing the SDKs, and they run a fine line, I think, between revealing what is programming proprietary and confidential information, and information useful for the third party developers to create content for FS.  If too much proprietary information gets released, then it would be (relatively) easy for someone to start modifying the essentials of FS and create their own game - instead of starting from scratch.

Deep down, I'm like most other flightsim developer dilettantes - waitig for the SDKs to be released.
