Hello i have recently produced a plane using gmax i have downloaded the makemdl and installed it i have saved my aircraft as a mdl file and made all the changes to the aircraft.cfg etc so it will work but i put it in to fs2002 standard and wen i select it fs2002 closes. I heard u need other converting utilities wot shall i do and were can i get the utilities somebody help me plz!!

I think Felix missed this. You would need the Gamepack included only with FS2002 Pro to export in MDL format. There is no other way to get it.
dont be silly no its not and if it is its bloody perfetic and am not gonna buy pro at the price it is just for sum crappy directory
It could be.
THe other method is described in a Tip/Tutorial at the Freeflight Design Shop pages, ... using an available MD3 (Quake model) exporter, then using an old 3DExploration to convert the MD3 file to an X file which makemdl can read.
What I haven't checked out is whether texture mapping and animations come through as well.
After trying this & all alternative methods I can find I've come to the conclusion the only practical method is with the FS2002 Gamepack. I just wish it was clear if the new FS2004 Gamepack will be included with FS2004 or a separate download as with CFS3. Also whether it will be capable of exporting FS2002-compatible models.
