Postby mantab » Fri Jun 06, 2003 5:04 am

Hi guys,
Can someone help with this I cannot get my rudder to turn to the left or right instead it operates in an up or down direction looking at it from a side on view. I simply cannot get it to turn left or right there must be something I'm doing right.

Which modelling program are you using? For Gmax or FSDS2 you need to rotate the part axis to line it up with the rudder hinge. It sounds like yours needs rotating 90 or 270 degrees.

Hi Mantab. In FSDS2 I use the rotate tool. Hold down the Shift key to rotate the part axis with the mouse without moving the part itself. There might well be other more accurate methods which Felix will no doubt be pleased to point out.  ;)

The highly detailed and precise way:

In part mode -

Transform->Rotate (input specific amounts desired in x, y, z ), click "axis only" and click enter.

Personally, I just shift-drag in Part mode(F5) / (R)otate
