File moving to speed-up the sims

Postby caveman16 » Wed Oct 03, 2007 7:24 am

Good morning Guys,   Wishing you a nice day.

I think I will ask this question in a different way as it was too narrow the other way.   Is there some way that I can install my Flight sim so it will be on the " outer tracts " of my hard drive ?   Such as re-installing it as a last install ?  Or moving the Flight sim folders to a different position in the PC ?  Or - - - - ????      Any input  ?

Sure would appreciate your thoughts on this.   The Flight sim would load and run faster if it was on those outer tracts of the hard drive.

     Have a good one,   caveman

Swap(paging) files should be moved to the front of the disk for full optimazation. There are many programs out there that will do this, both free and commercial. The paging file size can also be adjusted for some performance. I'm thinking that's what someone was trying to tell you. They can be also moved manually. Swap(paging) files are also refered to as virtual memory. The paging file is the area on the hard disk that Windows uses as if it were random access memory (RAM). If anyone knows of other tips, feel free to reply.
