What i meant when i said "what does that mean" is what does having a dell mean, i understood the bad card thing, sorry if i didnt clarify.

I ment you own a Dell brand computer. I was only saying that due to the fact that your setup is about what their standird build is.

Anyway, like said before, useing that thread as a way to figure out how to get the most out of your card could help you out, but to truely fix the problem your going to have to get a better card.

im not very good at clarification , i knew that having a dell meant a dell computer, i was just wonder if dell's came with a standard system that wasn't good for FS.
Anyway, doesnt really matter, thanks for the help, my scenery isn't terrible so i'll just live with what i have, but i do need that terrain mesh that's being transfered here at SimV!

With some optimizing you can make fs9 run and look really nice. Someone on Avsim has the same setup as you and he posted some screens.

They were Fly2e quality and he said it was real smooth. You could buy fs-gs which MAY help you

FS-GS is not worth it, with an onboard video card the money is better spent on a video card. Assuming you have a PCI-E slot.

Exactly. Now if you for some reason absolutely positively can not get a new video card, then contact michael, but a better video card will help you much more than FSGS will. And be thankful that you have a PCI-E slot, and not AGP.

For PCI-E, currently the best singal card is the ATi Radeon X1950XTX, costing around $650 depending on who you buy it from. Now you can also find 7800GTs floating around for about $200. Personally I would buy a 7900GS for $220. As a absolute last resort you could get a X850XT for a cool $140, but I wouldn't advise it.

if your tight on money, a 7800 will do good, personally its the card I would have bought had I had a little more money lying about! It runs everything pretty good from what Gunnerman told me (BF2,GW,FEAR, etc etc) I dont know too much about 7900s or 7950s, and I definatly am a noob to ATI cards.... Cheers, Gunny (DO NOT buy a lower card like I have done, you'll kill yourself over it!)

if ur going Nvidia then the 7800 or 7900 (any sort) is fine just no the 7950 as its not as great as some make it to be... most of the models ive seen so far have hardly any if some chipset features which is rather ghey.
