Idea!

Postby Gunny04 » Mon Oct 09, 2006 11:59 am

Well I was running the sims 2 and it was a little laggy, and I was remembering the specs on the old 6200... then I thought, the 6200 was 450MHZ by 600 (or something like that) this 7300LE is 400/648.... why not overclock it? So.... I put it at 500Mhz/700 something, Ran it for an hour or two in both FS and other games, ran about 6 degrees warmer on idle and load.... so I just threw it up to 524Mhz and its still stable, 10C more than stock (about 76C idle and 86-90C load) But without a fan I dont think thats bad, now..... I doubt it will go melting as its only in yellow but it might still right? Cheers, Gunny

my system hits 80C at factory settings (its a home build so i mean factory settings of the components), its not healthy to run at those temps well atleast not for a long period of time. so if you think you have problems look at my PC

as i always say, im only here to make everyone else look better by comparision :P

and here i have ;D

I run 45C on my processer at load, and 51C on the GPU at load.

Yay for Zalman (CNPS-9500LED / VF900Cu)

This is GPU, My cpu sits between 25-39C I need to get that upgraded bios for my board so that I can See what it truely is.... graphics card idles at 67C with 124Mhz overclock, Max load around 92C.... (Thats the FSX demo) Cheers, Gunny

EDIT: I could probably knock off about 5C on all of my components if I put a 120MM 106CFM Fan in the back, remember, this computer only has a Heatsink fan!

Its a bit warm for any card. When your trying to boil your GPU the rest of the card tends to melt ;)

lol.... its about 85ish now musta been a false temp? (max load that is) gets down to 65 with Idle if it sits for 20 mins....

EDIT: I have maxed its clock out for the GPU, 563Mhz and running stable! Runs FSX fine without traffic (I might have a little traffic going as I was watching cars driving) at about 13.7-19.8FPS..... that is.... the demo, and it does stutter, I cant wait to see what it does at O'hare or somehere  ;D I have an idea though, fire it up, try to take off, start smelling something funny, and look in case and....... Cheers!

Well considering he has a 7300LE core overclocked by 163MHZ on stock passive cooling I am not surprised.

Don't worry there arn't. Right after your done, you can spraypaint in a closed room with no vents.
