...continuing....

Attempt #76/256:

After searching for: "Modem Problems with Win 7", a Modem Site popped-up with the statement that; most/all Modems/Routers at present, are not compatible with Win 7!
The suggestion was to try and install the Modem Drivers under "Win '98/XP Compatibility Mode", with no guarrantee that it would work.
After searching around blindly, deep in the Win 7 Cellar, I magically stumbled acoss the

..not quite, Joe... :-/...!

For some unexplainable reason, I am now stuck in an endless loop of...>>

"To complete the installation, please restart your computer"....

..I've restarted it 150* times so far...

..and whatever it was that needed completing, still hasn't completed...apparently.... :'(...!

...and no way of finding out what wasn't completed!... >:(...!

....Ongoing process... :(...!

Paul....Thank goodness for my back-up Win XP Pro HDD... ;)...!

* or more....probably... ::)..!

Latest edit:
At the bottom of my Task Bar was an Icon pointing to a Windows program; "ADI RAS setup application".
This was the program which kept instructing me to "Complete the installation, etc, etc..."...every time I fired up Windows!
A search on the net reported it as being an application? in the Windows Folder, associated with; "Modems"...(problem?)...!
As my Modem was finally working OK, I removed the 3 "ADI RAS" Files from the Windows Folder and dropped them into a new, empty Folder on my Desktop, (just in case)...
Upon restarting windows, the annoying "pop-up window" problem seems to have disappeared!

...hopefully...the App wasn't required?

Paul.... ::)...!

Tip: Whenever searching for Windows Files, its a good idea to tick the box; "Show hidden Files" in the "Windows Folder Options".... ;)...!

...another little Win 7 tip...>>>

If, like me, you prefer your Windows 7 Clock to display a 12-hour AM/PM time, (like the clock on your wall), instead of the daft 24 hours (Military time!..>:(....)

....give this a try.... ;)....>>>

hh:mm:ss tt

..(...it was much easier in Win XP)... ;)...!

Paul....sometime in the afternoon... 8-)...!

Paul, I'm sitting here with a big smile on my face happily enjoying my fresh install of XP Pro. Nicely updated to SP3 and the likes. Just don't tell uncle Bill where I got it....

Glad things are starting to work again on your pc.

Carlo ;) (keeping things the way I like it)

.... ;)... ;)... ;)...!

You lucky so-and-so... ;)...!

My FS 2004 is not at all happy with all this fancy new Win 7 malarkey!.... >:(...!

I am spending day after day, trying to get Win 7 to function reliably, instead of spending my time enjoyably flying around Sunny California with my FS 2004... :'(...!

My version of Win XP Pro is stuck forever with the original Service Pack (0?), so I cant install anything that requires SP2/3 installed!

I need a link to your supplier of fully functioning Win XP SP3's... ;)... ;D...!

Paul...still struggling with Win 7... :'(...!

Now my 17" LCD Monitor has given up the ghost this evening!... >:(....

...using my spare 17" LCD Monitor now...

...my life is slowly coming to an end... :'(...!

Paul... ;)... ;)... ;D...!

...must keep laughing... ::)...!
