DVD repair

Postby Sir_Crashalot » Wed Sep 08, 2010 10:53 am

Hi,

got into a bit of trouble here. I have all my payware aircraft and sceneries stored onto a couple of DVD's. Problem is that 2 of these DVD's don't work any longer. They are not heavely damaged (a few scratches on both of them) but probably just enough to keep them from doing what they are supposed to do.

Any ideas on how to remove the scratches?

Carlo ;)

Downloaded and running the trial version Paul. I'll see what it does but I'm afraid all data is lost.

Let us know how you got on...

"Note: Due to the complex nature of data recovery, lost or corrupted files recovery is not always possible. It is recommended to download and try the evaluation version first. It is easy and fast."

Fingers crossed!... ;)...!

Well, I checked one of the two DVD's and according to Badcopy there are no files to recover. Just as I was afraid of.

Read the first link you sent Shane. Let's see what I can do with some toothpaste... If it doesn't work, at least I'll have two very shiny DVD's... ;D

LOL ;D

Well, I tried the toothpaste trick I read in your link Shane. Didn't work. I have one last trick up my sleeves and that is car polish. Will take the DVD's to my friend's car repairshop tomorrow and see what he can do. I mean he can polish scratches off any kind of car so he's willing to try it on the DVD's.
