Need some quick display help

Postby Craig. » Wed May 12, 2010 4:35 pm

Hi guys, just a quickie.
My internet has been screwed up for a week or two now. All my forum displays are out. It looks like the size is too big for the page, but all the text sizes and zoom is as usual. I am also having problems with pages not loading.
Just a quick example.
And before anyone suggests Firefox, I am looking for a solution to this problem in IE please.

I know you're not looking for a conversion, but even so... Try Firefox.

Does it work properly on Firefox? Just to see if the problem is specific to IE or if it applies elsewhere.

Though I've never tried it, it is apparently possible to start Internet Explorer in safe (no addons) mode. This link here tells you how, but it's up to you to try it or not. Again, it may help to see if the problem is IE specific - Maybe some addon or something else is causing issues.

Another example, as you can see the description text is all unreadable.

In IE 8, on some sites I have to click compatability button in the toolbar so older versions will show properly. See if it works?

Thanks Steve, but no its not that. I am starting to think it might be a graphics card issue, it recently had an update and I cant remember if it was around that time I was getting issues, so I am going to roll the drivers back and see if that fixes it.

Try opening your desktop settings and change the screen size to something larger.

You could also try CTRL + mouse scroll wheel, sometimes that could be an issue... even 5% zoom can throw some web pages out.

Thanks Rob but no luck.
I do think this is now a graphics card issue.

I highly doubt it would have anything to do with the graphics card. If everything else but a few forums displays OK, it's IE.

Your graphics card has no input on web page display, I seriously hope you don't do anything foolish like sending your GFX card back, or buying a new one. Because it won't fix the problem.

I wouldn't go that far :)
Like I said I might try a roll back to the last driver. Its just the old case of trying everything.
What makes me confused is that I had this problem first with IE7, then upgraded to IE8 to try and fix it, but still same problem.

I know you said you don't wish to change browsers, but just think about upgrading to Google Chrome. I've used alot of browsers, but this I've found to be my favourite.
