Compatibility with Windows7 64 bits

Postby MoominTheTroll » Wed Jan 27, 2010 5:43 pm

  Hi Simmers,
I'm about to buy a new PC, and I'm looking at a Core i7 running Windows7 64 bits. Question: shall my sim soft still run on the new beast.
Have you experienced compatibility (or in-compatibilty) of this OS with:
- CFS 1,
- CFS 2,
- CFS 3,
- FS 2004,
- Falcon 4.0,
- IL2 Sturmovik,
- SAR 2,
- SAR 3,
- SAR 4,
- WWII Fighters,
- B 17
- Strike Fighters,
- Lock On,
- Flanker 2.0,
or any add-on for one of these software, and:
- MS Sidewinder Force Feedback2?

Thanks a lot!

FS9 (FS2004) runs fine on my Win7 32bit, as does IL2, I'm sure they will all run fine, just remember to put the older games into compatibility mode  ;)

I am running W7 64 bit, and everytime it seems stable, there is a 'critical update' that stuffs things up and means I have to repair the Windows software to get it running.
I would strongly advise anyone contemplating W7 64 bit to manually install updates, as they have proved to be a major headache for me.

Having said that, it is all good news when it is running well.
Just the updates that seem to create problems..
