Norton Ghost Tips

Postby a1 » Mon Nov 16, 2009 6:49 pm

Any one using this utility and have tips upon using it? I have it installed for a while now but I don't have any real life saving functions turned on at the moment. I want to hear some methods to use thisprogram before messing with it.

Sorry, all that i have is Norton Internet Security 2010 with Antivirus.  Ultimately, it is my big brother that lives inside my computer.  It watches everything that I look at on the web and if it thinks it is not safe, it will either ask me what I want to do with the Webpage or file, or it will just block it.  (depends on the settings that I have set up for various things.)

My tip is to ditch anything to do with Symantec (Norton) and install anything to do with ESET (Nod32 or Smart Security) and perform your own manual back-ups to DVD or external hard drive.

Norton (Symantec) will take over the whole of your Computer!..... [smiley=evil.gif]...!

...and when you finally realise what a disastrous mistake it was, the only way to get rid if it completely is to Format your Hard Drive!

I learned my lesson the hard way, many years ago!.... :o...!

Paul...AVG...... 8-)...!

If you know how to edit the registry a format isn't *usually* necessary... however, you can google Norton removal tool and it will save the hassle.

I personally hate the likes of Norton/McAfee/Bullguard etc.. the only reason they exist is for the likes of PC World to sell their PCs/laptops...

Its difficult to know which to do first, Rob.... ::)...

Format the Hard Drive first...

....or...

Format the Hard Drive after you've cocked-up the Registry by fiddling with it!... :'(...!

...LOL... ;D...!

Paul...I hate fiddling with things!... ::)..

...especially when it results in a slap around the face!.... :o...!
