Anyone have it? Whats your thoughts? I just got it. It seems to run better on my pc then fsx does thats for sure. But I still like fsx better. Any comments, suggestions?

Tried the demo...interface/menus suck. Realism may be "good" but it needs a LOT more work before it reaches my buy. It may be "realistic" but it is missing too much.

I have had it for a few months.  Make sure you go to x-plane.org and get the update to 9.22 (or 9.21rc1).

It has its up & downs.  I think in most places the scenery is not nearly as good as FSX + addons.  The Xplane sim does run a WHOLE LOT SMOOTHER than FSX.  I guess that's what a properly coded flight sim does.

Xplane has different flight dynamics, more "reactive", some think they're better than FSX and some don't.  I think if you get a quality addon plane for FSX (like the Carenado Cessna 182RG) then the flight dynamics in FSX are just as good if not better...FSX seems to simulate plane mass & inertia better.  With Xplane when a control input is made the reaction is instantaneous-wouldn't happen like that in real life in a 3000lb. plane.

Xplane scenery sucks IMO.  There are some photoscenery addons available but FSX scenery rules over Xplane, especially with roads.  And the aircraft exteriors are far better in FSX.

I think I am a devoted FSX fanboy.  Xplane hase more work to do to win me over.

So there you have it-my opinion of Xplane. :)

Not coded... that 60gigs of xplane on your harddrive? Yeah, it's a boat plane load of scenery. ;D

I only use the US scenery + the Arizona state photoscenery, 20 Gb total.

It has to coding, doesn't it?  Isn't that why FSX is so hard on a system, poorly designed code for today's HW?

I gotta say I have noticed it runs alot smoother for me then fsx does. But I dunno maybe its cause I just got it that I'm not extremely fond of it yet. The cockpits don't seem to have as much detail as fsx, I am struggling to find out where or how to use auto pilot, how to find the wing stabilizers.

Any tips anyone has thats had it for awhile wold be appreciated, like can you open cabin doors? can you push  back? wheres the gps? all that stuff. Thank you for everyone's input so far

I haven't done much but just go flying off the runway from a startup flight.  Then go sightseeing.  There are certain config options you want to set depending on your system.
