Firefox crap

Postby Wii » Mon Feb 25, 2008 7:06 pm

So I got Firefox 2 to try it out and see if the download speeds are better. Slightly better. So far my downloads have been good but for some stupid reason it is dumping them somewhere deep in my Windows folders and now it (my download) just disappeared even though I have it set to send the files to a certain directory. Any clue what would have happened to this file? I have literally searched everywhere and it just disappeared... not even in my recycling bin. Dangit vista!

Just type the file name into Start/Find/Files or Folders to find it. If you don't know the extension or only part of of the filename use wildcards.

The go to:
Tools, Option and the in Main select the destination folder that you want your downloads to go to. Mine is set to desktop as generally you want to action a download as soon as you have got it.

I find that every now and again Mr. Firefix insists on automatically installing their latest update....

..which always alters my previous preferences..VERY annoying!.... >:(...!

But as Matt suggested, set your downloads to default to your Desktop.
They are easy to spot, and deal with, there...;)..!

The thing is I have it set to download to my documents but it downloads to windows temp files or something like that. Not sure what happened with the other file...redownloaded and everything is OK. I'll try experimenting with other locations.
