But ,FSX Has new things ,that make more realism in the flight , I will say Just one Flight Dinamics, movement VC , camera definiton feature, more controls you could turn Heading,Ias,altitude with a knob Now, and many other things, At the begining I didn't like it, but now with the SP2 release you should try again ..

If you are on XP x64 SP2 which was released last year, you already have the majority of what is supplied in XP SP3

Most of it is about security updates and changes to how the registration system works however there is a significant change in the HAL and how it works. There have been some reports of better performance in the 32bit SP3 release. There certainly was in XP x64 SP2.

I've been running the release candidate SP3 for over a month and haven't noticed any problems. Performance *seems* a tad better but I have no hard data to support that.

Service pack updates are probably the most dangerous upgrade you can make to a system, under a BIOS flash as being the #1

Its always best to clean install a system and using the new SP update ALONE which includes all updates from the past (some of which they may have changed) than overlaying them one by one.

I always plan a complete wipe and install of Windows with any SP update.

many times the update will nopt complete properly if simply installed over past SP's. The x64 SP2 update required a clean install of Windows in order for the HAL upgrades to properly register. Although Windows ran fine with an overlay, that area would not fully register unless it was a clean install of XPx64
