Well chums, after much lusting and deliberation, I finally bit the bullet, opened my purse and emptied

Jeeessss...!!

What a waste of time and money...

At the moment, the whole World...and his dog... are having problems with Installing this bleedin' game... >:(...!

Tried all the recommended Internet settings...to no avail... :'(...!

I may take the game back to the Shop tomorrow and threaten to poke the Game Supplier in the eye with a pointed stick, if he doesnt't agree to re-imburse me the princely sum of

Well Chums...

Would you know, after 13 hours of constantly trying to install the Game, it finally worked...!

I had been repeatedly trying to connect to the Bioshock Server to complete the installation via the recommended Internet Explorer Browser, (rather than my usual Firefox)...installing a "Patch" without success.

It finally worked, why, I don't know!

So there you go...
No need now to poke the Games Supplier in the eye now with my pointed stick, although it would give me some satisfaction, after all the trouble I had in getting it to work!

Thanks again, Chums for your interest and suggestions...;)...!

F...Biometric.... 8-)...!

P.S. ...does anyone remember the good-old days when the game came on a 1/4 inch audio tape, and providing your tape recorder was in good order, it loaded fine...;)...
...now, practically every Game CD you purcahase is almost guaranteed to give you grief... >:(...!

...am I right...or am I right?.... ::)...!

Aah the good old days of the ZX Spectrum, where the only way to get a failed load was forgetting to press the play button on the tape machine.

Brrrrrrr.. BEEP  :)

I managed to contact the Bioshock Corporation late yesterday, and apparently they employ the services of an old Lady (Mrs. Wilkins) who pops in each day, for an hour, with her knitting, in a 7th. story flat in Downtown Manhattan, to press a large red button (marked "Press" ) each time a request arrives to upload the "Patch" to the latest Bioshock purchaser.
Then, after the hour is up, she returns back home on the 'Bus to feed the Cat.

It seems that anyone trying to contact her outside of that hour is urinating into the wind (or words to that effect).

Every Friday she receives a couple of fresh Lamb Chops, wrapped in newspaper, and a tin of Cat food, for her services.

I don't know what is going to happen when Mrs. Wilkins' arthritis makes her really poorly, together with the long daily climb up tp the 7th. story flat (the lift is always "out of order" ), and she has to take some time off to recuperate.

I think the result is that new purchasers of Bioshock, unable to obtain the vital "Patch", will return their Games to the shop, resulting in financial bankruptcy, and the total collapse of the Bioshock Corporation.

...perhaps?... ::)...

F.... ;)....!

I had to keep trying for 12 hours, for her to turn up with the vital Patch!.. >:(...!

..and she brought her bleedin' Cat with her...and I HATE Cats!.... >:(...!
