Trojan alert

Postby expat » Thu Jun 28, 2007 5:04 am

Got a small problem. I installed a bit of software that was an update to another program. Now I get regular "alerts" in the form of a toolbar flag up saying that I have a Trojan and I should visit this website  http://www.viruslocker.com/ to buy their product to fix said problem.
Having run my McAfee online scan twice, I am of the opinion that this is just a ruse to get me to buy the software. Has anyone got any idea of how I can remove this, it is getting to be more than a little annoying.

Thanks

Matt

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Any time I have a problem like that I google a description of the symptom.  Do a google search of the exact text of the toolbar flag and you'll probably turn up some good info.

Thanks Chris, a Google search recommended to set the system back a couple of days. It seems to have worked.
