Deleting a UsernAme

Postby bok269 » Sat May 19, 2007 2:45 pm

So my brother and I bought a laptop together in the fall. Like any sibling joint-venture, it failed miserably.  Im buying out his share.  I want to delete his username.  Ive got a few questions.

Will deleting his username delete his files too?  Or will they be dumped into mine?

What should I do the remove the remnatns of the files from the hard drive (in order ot improve FSX performance)?

Another sibling rivalry. You sound like an American company- buy out the competition!

You have to be a system Administrator to do this.

Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Click on User Accounts>Click on the User you want to kick>Click on "Delete Account" in menu that comes up. You should be able to take it from there.

This will delete everything under the C/Documents and Settings/ (username). It will leave programs installed by the user.

Have fun with your monopoly over the laptop!

By the way, how much did the laptop cost, and how did you a split payments?

Thanks, thats what I wanted to be sure of.

It was 1480 and we just split it down the middle.  Plus the peripherals, which I also bought out.
