Anyone play online FPS?

Postby dcunning30 » Wed Mar 21, 2007 11:30 am

I like WWII FPS's.  I tend to play Call of Duty United Offensive.  I have COD2, but CODUO seems to have better online gameplay than COD2.  What are you playing?  Do you play stock maps, or do you play mods only?  I tend to play stock maps because I hate constantly having to d/l 40 meg files everytime I try to play a modded game.

How's Red Orchestra?  That game interests me but I haven't checked out any reviews yet.

its real good, that game has the most realistic tank battles imo. Well worth your buck, you can d/l the full game on the steam website.

IMO CoD2 was pants, COD and CODUO were the best in the series for MP.

but i play loads and loads of FPS online

Day of Defeat 1.3
Counter Strike Source
Day of Defeat Source
BF2 + PR mod
BF2142
Red Orchestra
Americas Army

but the most realistic is Red Orchestra or Americas Army both based on the same engine, and AA is just 40 years ahead of RO basicly.

the Steam games are the ones i play the most as i just find them fun :D

I don't know what I'm waiting for.  I have both versions of America's Army and I haven't played either yet.  I think I should give them a try.

My only problem with AA is that I have the bugged version where its impossible to complete one of the training missions, so I can't play online.

That and the fact that every time I've downloaded the newer version, its corrupt and freezes my computer when I try to install it.  >:(

EDIT: Just went to download the newest version... 2.5GB!!!!!!???? I'm going to bed while I wait.

For AA? If so, a good one is filefront.

It's downloaded, and finally extracting without locking my computer up to the point where I need to restart.

Just one problem... It won't let the temp files go anywhere but C drive. I only have ~900 MB free on C. Time to go clean house...
