Vista is out on the Egg.

My copy is in the mail...was time to move from XP anyway.

I was wondering if this on NE was a full version or the upgrade.
Maybe someone knows.

Full version. The difference is you only get one licence, and you don't get the box. Just the CD, and the CD key. Thats why its called OEM and thats why its so cheap.

OMG!!!!

I can't wait for Vista to come out tomarrow.  DX10 is included and should GREATLY inhance FSX (even more so if you have a video card that supports DX10, I do!).

I'm gonna compare basic to pro and ultimate so I can decide what is right...

DX10 included? ROTFLMAO!!!! No, no it isn't. Also it has been found that with the current drivers, Vista sucks balls for gaming. We need to hold off for now.

If you are useing XP home now, Vista Home Premium is what you want. If your useing XP Pro, you will want to look at Ultimate. Busness is alright, but not worth the cash.

I'm not waiting for the bugs to be worked out; I can live with service packs.

I'm waiting until the  64-bit details are worked out.  From what I hear... the "Vista DX10 magic" won't happen until the O/S, hardware/drivers are all talking to each other in 64-bit chunks of data..

I wonder how much an upgrade package is. Those tend to be a bit cheaper than the new-install versions (if that is the proper term for it). I remember when we bought XP; we bought an upgrade version and it was considerably cheaper than the full-blown deal, and with the exact same functions.

Obviously everyone has different views on Vista.  The DX10 comment I made was what I heard from other multipal sources.  If this is agreed to not be the case then....       crap. :-/

Depends on what you want. It can be as cheap as $99 for Home Basic, or as expensive as $250 for Ultimate. But the problem is that you can't get a clean install with the upgrade, unlike with XP. So if you have to reformat, you have to reinstall XP, install SP2 and the updates then install Vista. Pain in the ass if you ask me.

@Giteen: Vista ships with DX9c, not DX10. However only Vista will be able to run DX10, XP will not. Vista 64 is suppost to have DX10 when it ships sometime in Q3.
