Half-Life Questions...

Postby BFMF » Tue Jan 09, 2007 4:49 pm

I just bought Half-Life, or atleast I just got it in the mail (It took a couple weeks to ship here)....

But anyway, I'm installing it, and it includes:

Half-Life: Source
Half-Life: Deathmatch
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Counter-Strike: Source

I know that it's a series, which starts with Half-Life:Source, and goes to Half-Life:2, and Half-Life:Episode One.

I'm assuming the Deathmatch games are the multiplayer games, right? That makes sense. But what is Half-Life:Lost Coast? Is it part of the storyline series, or is it a seperate mod like Counter Strike?

It's a seperate little section to show off HDR lighting.  It's pretty interesting and fun, but it has no bearing on the story, but still worth it to play through.

Its a separate mission that really doesn't fit in the story like that the developers just threw in to show off the source engine...

...its short, but sweet. :)

Make sure to play Lost Coast and Episode 1 twice. The first time without the dev's comments, the second time with.

I don't think I played a game more times than HL2:E1.  Because I beat it so quick, and it was really awesome, I decided to do it on every difficulty once except hard, which I did three times  ;)  Once normally, once with commentary, and once with the console, which is wicked fun  ;D

...Not that that has to do with your question, I'm just really...out of it, and I saw a half-life thread, so I said what I said...
"Have compassion for all beings, rich and poor alike; each has their suffering. Some suffer too much, others too little."

Must be quite fun on THC, since I'm getting slightly paranoid from that stuff. :D
