Save To What Disk

Postby Bubblehead » Thu Mar 30, 2006 12:34 am

When I try to save a picture using PrintScreen32, after I press Alt + Prt Scr, a dialogue box window appears. When I check the box "Do You Want to Save It To A Disk" or something to that effect, and then click OK, the picture disappears momentarily until I press "Pause" after which it takes me back to the picture. My question is what disk is the picture going to. I cannot find it in the PrintScreen32 File although I found the list of printed screens I did in the past. What's going on? Do I have to print the picture before it is saved?

try using a program called FSScreen. Completely hassle free!! Place it in its own folder, start it up then in FS pres Print Screen and it'll save the pic to the directory it is in. Can't be any simpler!!

Honestly speaking, the best screenshot software is infact, Infranview. Put the Jpeg setting up to 100%, then resize in photoshop (if u got it). Works like a charm.

I would have agreed with you once, but irfanview has a few issues (disappearing aircraft, slow save time). It also takes away performance from FS2004. FFScreen is simple small fast and works every time!

Flight Sim Manager also has a screenshot program built in.

Install, uninstall panels, effects, aircrafts and more.

In my opinion it is a great program and under hyped . When installing planes it tells you weather or not all of the gauges are there and if not what ones are missing.

Just another option for you.

As one of you suggested I donwloaded and installed FSSCREEN version 1.1. However, in the User's Documentation,   there were a couple of statements I don't understand. It stated the "with some 3D graphic accelerator cards, it is not possible to make screenshots with the Print Screen key."

I tried to contact the author and go to his website but it said that " I have no permission to contact Mr. Holzer". Thus I was not able to download the required VBRUB600.DLL file.

If there are any of you who has successfuly used the FSScreen program, I'd sure appreciate some pointers.

To test if FSScreen works with print screen on your system just run it and hit Print Screen. Look at the FSScreen window and if it has an image on it, it works. Check the folder FSScreen is in to see if there is a saved image.
As for VBRUN600.dll, this is a Visual Basic run-time DLL you can find a download to it here: http://www.linkbutler.com/Links/Help/Su ... dfiles.htm

If you need any other help just PM me, and don't give up on FSScreen it is a wonderful program

O' Winged One.

My problem is when I hit the Print Screen button, the Print Screen32 dialogue box appears. Can I assigned a different button for the FSScreen? And where do you think I will find the FSScreen file to check for prints?

You can't change the assigned key. it is hard-coded into the program (one of the only problems). I'm not to familiar with this dialogue box. if you could post what it says I will have a look.
By prints I assume you mean the saved screenshots? They are found in the smae folder as the FSScreen exe

3 words, Grab Clip Save.

http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb.cgi?section=misc&file=GCS.zip

more words:
Its a verry simple program with some goos options, i dont think you can reassign the capture button but whatever you use youll probly want to uninstall that other program you are having trouble with anyway. I think GCS is the hidden secret with many fs pilots,  sometimes the best programs are kept quiet  ;) ;D

Simple...!

In the "options menu" on the screen save programs, just direct the shot to be saved to the "Desktop".... ;)...!

That's where it will appear as soon as you press "Print Screen"... ;D...!

My Irfanview screen shots are directed to here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\Desktop

Sorted...!

Paul... ;D...!

If you save then in "Full Screen Mode" instead of "Windowed Mode", the desktop start menu wont appear... ;)...!
