TurboCad and DesignCad Anyone heard of them?

Postby mojavepilot » Sat Jan 07, 2006 9:28 pm

I have two software programs called TurboCad and DesignCad.  I was wondering if anyone had ever used them and if so, are they any good for designing FS
add-ons.  I did a search with no luck.  I figured I'd just ask before I went through the trouble of adding them to my computer.  Thanks in advance for replies.

I have heard of them, have used TurboCad for designing cabinets and furniture, but with the learning curve find the good old pencil and paper faster! lol

Don't know if they would work for FS stuff??

Thanks for the reply.  After looking over the books and reading the boxes I got the impression it's more for designing houses, cabinents, and such.  Oh well...
Guess I'll put them back into storage.

My dad uses TurboCad a lot because he's a civil engineer and needs to design various things. I sat down and tried to use it to make an aircraft model, which I did but I couldn't convert it so it's FS compatible.

Never ever use CAD software for the creation of Realtime
3D Models or other 3D Content wich primary purpose
is visualisation and not engineering !!
(expect there is no other possibility)

Exporting CAD Data is a whole scientific branch for itself.
CAD Software produces way to much polygon
NFo/Simviation Multiplayer Server.

I always thought the "Planemaker" module bundled with X-plane was a CAD based engine.  I'm sure if it is it would be significantly watered down from what a normal CAD engine would do.
