use fraps..
make short video clips,
then edit them together..
no1 wants to watch a 10min flight with all the boring bits in..

That sounds familiar.  LOL  (I'd strongly encourage you to not do more than 8-15 second  shots still...even if it's for your use only!  If you mess up on a 4 minute shot, you've gotta reshoot the entire sequence again.  Not the case with smaller shots!)
Great edit, Bob.

na...I have to disagree about the long shots....I keep just keep the tape rolling, and then later...edit out what I don't want...

...its alot better than saying "zOMFG, that was such an awsome shot, why the heck did I not get it on tape" ;)

I threw together my first video last night...should be on simv tomorrow...

Yes, by all means, SHOOT longer shots, but then the final product should only be 8-15 seconds.  (Unless you're doing it the easy way and setting up your shots intentionally.  The process will be far simpler that way, and you don't need to spend nearly as much time editing.)

I recently made a short video (not FS) andI actually used far less footage than I usually do.  I used about 12 minutes of footage to get a 3 minute video.
Great edit, Bob.
