Touch Screen Controls

Postby JSpahn » Thu Apr 12, 2007 10:03 pm

Hello all,

Anybody out there thought of using a touchscreen for controls? Picked up a 10 inch panel on ebay with a touchscreen and Im hoping to integrate it into my yet to be built pit. Here is an example Im working on now:

Not much to it yet, Im using Touch-it Virtual Keyboard to built the control panel. You can program in keystrokes and it even makes a cool beeping sound when the button is pressed. What do yo think? ;)

Touchscreens have been more than considered...

You might want to re-evaluate your panel creation, TouchBuddy can probably do a whole lot more than what you are using already.

I have been messing with touchbuddy(dosnt sound good) and WOW! Im surprised more fs nutts are not using this! You can configure it to almost anything in FS!

Why buy custom switches an knobs when you have your imagination and photoshop to do it for you! I think for generic pit builders this is a must have tool!

Touchbuddy has it's uses... but for some things real switches, knobs and indicators give a better feel.

My 'pit will be generic, and I hope to incorporate Touchbuddy... but there will still be loads of switches and knobs.

Yeah you cannot replace the tactile feel of a button or  switch, but me not knowing what 70% of the controls do, this will allow me to update using software when I learn a bit more.

Plus I can run multiple profiles for which ever aircraft I want to fly.

Here is my generic profile Im working on now, I know its a bit cartoonish

;D  Great work Mastermind. I know this isn't easy.I tried to install TB but had some problems. Can you tell me where to download TB not the TBtool kit.

Here: http://www.touch-buddy.com/forums/local ... hp?catid=1

look for: TouchBuddy v1.3.0 (Revision 16 - full build)

Unzip the folder and run the executable. There is also a FS profile out there although I think building a new profile would be better.

It is slightly buggy sometimes but nothing to be too worried about.
