FSUIPC with MAAM-Sim DC-3

Postby beaky » Wed Sep 27, 2006 6:51 am

Just registered FSUIPC to start working out my whole simpit control setup, and I was hoping that FSUIPC could provide me with control of the Sperry autopilot. I can turn it on and off, but can't find any commands that will allow me to change the heading gyro or attitude control.
Tried everything regarding autopliot, autocoordinator, heading, etc... but no joy. I'm building a 'pit primarily to minimize keyboard and mouse usage, with the eventual goal of not showing much of the panel in my main view, so this is a problem. It's easy enough to manipulate the Sperry in VC mode with the mouse, but I'd rather not.
And no, I'm not going to update  the AP- that's not why I'm flying the DC-3. No GPS, either.
Can't find much in the way of an in-depth tute on FSUIPC, either... anybody know if there is another "level" of customization available in FSUIPC, or where I might find a good how-to?

That's about what I expected... but it stands to reason that since there is code for those actions, there is a way to trigger them other than clicking with the mouse.
Maybe I'll delve into that later... meanwhile I can continue  with the project; the AP bittons will physically be the same regardless.

But it sure would be nice to be able to select discreet cowl flap positions instead of changing them in increments...as far as I can tell, FSUIPC won't do that for me, either.
That's gonna be a bear to engineer mechanically (rotary switches that detent at various positions but only send "open in increments" or "close in increments" commands).
