That gear handle is actually brilliant....The only thing I would have done differently (as a guy who hasn't done anything pit related, so take it for what it's worth) is put a second switch...one for gear up, one for gear down.  lol

No second switch required...because the gear is a toggle (push once it goes up, once more it goes down etc...).

Ahh, see?  Now THAT is precisely why I don't build a pit....I make more work than necessary.  In this case, exactly double!  lol
