Daz,

Thanks  ;).

It is actually surprising how little it has cost to do the basic structure pictured above.  The "realism" looks pretty good so far.  I can sort of now envision the "final product".

I know that when I paint the stuff the basic "cockpit grey" and start adding various controls that it will quickly look even more "real".  I am happy with how it is coming out.

The "glass cockpit" part for the majority of the "instruments" actually is just about free too....... old "junk" computers to drive that part.  The more expensive part will be some of the modules that I plan to use like the GoFlight autopilot and radios.

best,

.................john

Putting a message here so that this thread pops back toward the top.... to complement the new posting I just did on the further status of the construction.  Just noticed that some of the pictures that I used have somehow gotten garbled with other pictures in these older threads.... I'll try to fix that soon.

best,

Stormy,

THANKS!

If you look at the thread "Cockpit Construction Continued (Part 4)" you can see a couple of shots that are somewhat more current than the ones in this thread.  The pit is still a LONG way from completion.  ;)  But every week usually sees something ...... even if it is very small.... moving forward.

best,

...............john

PS:  There are a few new panel designs in the thread CCC (part 5).  Not mounted yet though.
