Just a general inquiry, I currently have the ATi Asus HD4670 Oced a little bit, great little card and not much power usage. But I might be upgrading to a 4850 In the near future, My PSU is something very random (I have no idea what it is) But it runs my current system fine. My question is, will my psu be capable of running a 4850. I do plan to overclock it when I get it.

Also will it be a good improvement over my 4670?

Not knowing what PSU you have its a dificult. But just open your rig and see what is the power output, you will be able to see it.
In our days, the best PSU you can buy its never less than 500 W. But keep in mind that knowing what you have on your pc ( processor, how many optical drives, Hd, GPU).

Yeah, My PSU does not say ANYWHERE what Watts it is, only volts, which is 250. And i did one of those Power calculation thingys, It said my com uses 250 Watts (Max) Because It is so awesome 8-)

Well Volts and W are 2 diferent things. But its a long explanation.

So, if you know how to do those power calculations then you know 250w ITS NO GOOD.
Yes you need another PSU im surprised that one holded that rig the way you say it did.specially with fs9 and all that Harware.

And yeah The motherboard plug from my PSU is 4 pins short but it still goes

Those extra 4 pins are needed for PCIe power with better video cards so you need a 20 to 24pin adapter plug OR a new PSU that comes with the 24 pin motherboard plug

Without all 24pins from the PSU you WILL smoke the motherboard if a higher power PCIe card is installed

and I would not trust that PSU to have enough juice if it does not show the watt rating on it

That's what I thought, So would 500-600Watts be enough for a 4850? As I said I do plan to overclock it a little bit, And I'm getting 4Gb of RAM very soon. Would having 4Gb of RAM affect how much power the motherboard uses?

4670 isn't very good. Practically anything, even a 9600GT would be much faster. 4850 is probably twice as fast. If you want to find out your PSU, open the case and look at the side of it. Find any number on it, such as product number - then tell us AND google it.

SHAW... we'll you answered your own question "Shaw", it even sounds bad. They're generic and cheap, you get what you pay for.

Radeon 4850 needs a single 6 pin PCI-E connector so make sure to get a 24 pin (or 20+4) PSU with a 6 pin PCI-E connector (or two PCI-E 6pin connectors for future upgrades). Most good 450 watts will run it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Go grab a CORSAIR TX650, do research yourself on power supplies, or ask the people at the store.

Don't know much about aerocool... try searching to make sure everythings solid. The product page looked good however.

Still, I'd rather have a Corsair 550VX 550 watt or something for that price.
