Cooling question for Nick

Postby ShaneG_old » Mon May 11, 2009 6:35 am

Hello Nick,

I was wondering what your thoughts on liquid cooling systems were.

I have an AquaStar cooling system that I used in my old system, but was a little nervous about installing it into my new one when I built it.

But it has been a while now, and my system hasn't died, and I'm getting ready to do a complete system re-install.

If there is a major advantage to the LCS, I would like to use it again, but if not, I'll stick with my fans. :)

I don't have a cooling problem now, I just like the exra lights from the LCS. ;D

Thanks for your opinion.

Liquid cooler comes with a block for the CPU & GPU, and mounts in the extra dvd drive bays.

Current cooling:

-AMD 64 5400+ 2.8ghz dual core with Thermaltake TR2-R1 fan

-ATI 1650pro 512mb with stock fan

-3 additional case fans (stock in the Xion case)

not sure if this one mattered:

x2 Gb of OCZ 800Mhz RAM with 'fancy heat sinks' :D

The AquaStar AS-3000 never got very good ratings when it was new

LOL

I dont see any reason to mess with it
