TV as a monitor

I have a 19 inch HDTV that will allow a pc hook up, will i need any special settings and will it mess up FSX or make me loose frames?

you need to go into the settings for the drivers.. you should find settings that say something like TREAT AS HDTV or something like that so the aspect ratio is correct

The driver settings should have TV settings and HDTV should be one of them.. set to the correct HDTV resolution you use, 780 or 1080 depending on the TV set

then you need to set FSX to the correct scale in the graphics settings

And make sure the WideViewAspect=True hook is set in the fsx.cfg file

How are you connecting it? What type of cable?

I had a 26" LCD hooked to the pc here once, while the usual monitor was being repaired... worked perfectly...

Some LCD TVs are plug-and-play (if connected by a VGA or DVI cable), and simply hooking them up will make the pc find them, and you just need to set the resolution for the appropriate one, just like a regular monitor

If you're using some other type of cable, some setup will probably be required

im not using the HD part of it i just hooked up the RGB cable
